Questions
- Do readers need an app or an account?
- No. They open a link in their phone's browser. Nothing to install, no sign-up.
- Where does the page live?
- At yourname.foldsheet.com. Each issue gets its own link, and a standing address such as /bulletin always shows the newest one.
- How long does an issue stay up?
- As long as you like: until you take it down, or for 7, 30 or 90 days. After that the link says it is no longer available.
- Where are my e-bulletins kept?
- In files you save, on your computer. Save puts a .foldsheet file wherever you choose, and Open a file brings it back. Each published issue also keeps a copy you can download from the E-bulletins page.
- Does it work on a Mac or a Chromebook?
- Yes. Chrome, Edge and Chromebooks save straight to the file. Safari and Firefox can't, so Save downloads a copy each time. On a Mac, Chrome is the better experience.
- Can Safari or Firefox replace the file instead of making copies?
- Only if you tell the browser to ask where each download goes. Safari: Settings, General, File download location, "Ask for each download". Firefox: Settings, General, Downloads, "Always ask you where to save files". Save then shows a dialog where you can pick the same file and choose Replace. Chrome and Edge don't need any of this.
- Can several of us work on it?
- Yes. The office or school adds people by email, and each person signs in on their own computer. Save a page as a theme and everyone can start from it.
- What happens when the trial or subscription ends?
- Nothing is deleted; your e-bulletins are files on your computer. Publishing pauses, and published pages stay up for 30 more days.
- Can I have it as an app with its own icon?
- Yes. In Chrome or Edge, click the install icon at the right end of the address bar, or choose Install Foldsheet from the browser menu. On a Mac, Safari's File menu has Add to Dock. It's the same site in its own window, and your files open and save the same way.
